Renowned NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch, has been admitted to the hospital due to a serious illness, as announced by his family on Thursday. Consequently, he will miss the upcoming race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The announcement was shared through social media platforms, where it was also mentioned that Busch is currently receiving medical care.
The family requested “understanding and privacy” as they manage this challenging time.
Currently positioned 24th in the Cup Series standings, Busch has recorded two top-10 finishes over 12 races this season. At 41, the Las Vegas-born driver secured championships in 2015 and 2019 and is in his fourth year with Richard Childress Racing, having previously achieved victories with Joe Gibbs Racing.
Richard Childress Racing has announced that Austin Hill will take Busch’s place for Sunday’s event.
The team emphasized their commitment to Busch’s well-being in a statement, saying, “Kyle Busch’s health is our utmost priority, and he and his family have the full support and resources of RCR. We wish him a swift and complete recovery, and his No. 8 Chevrolet will be ready for his return.”
