Former President Donald Trump expressed his satisfaction over Stephen Colbertβs departure from CBS, labeling the βLate Showβ host as a βtotal jerkβ after his final broadcast on Thursday night.
βColbertβs time at CBS has finally come to an end. Itβs surprising he stuck around for so long! No talent, no audience, no spark. He was lifeless,β Trump commented on Truth Social Friday morning. βYou could find anyone off the street who would outperform this total jerk. Thank goodness heβs finally out!β
Colbert, who had been the face of the late-night show for 11 seasons, saw his program canceled last year as CBS cited a βfinancial decisionβ for pulling the plug on the struggling series.

The 62-year-old comedian pointed fingers at the former president, attributing his showβs cancellation to CBS owner Paramountβs legal settlement with Trump.
In his farewell episode, Colbert refrained from political accusations but welcomed Bruce Springsteen, a prominent Trump critic, who didnβt hold back in the penultimate show on Wednesday.
βIβm here supporting Stephen tonight because youβre the first in America to lose your show due to a president who canβt handle a joke,β Springsteen addressed the audience.
