Woman's adorable dog shot dead when cops probe noise complaint

A woman says her beloved dog was fatally shot by Los Angeles police after officers responded to a noise complaint during celebrations over the New York Knicks’ championship victory.

Video that has spread widely on social media shows Marie Marseille in visible shock as she reacts to the death of Jameson, her two-year-old Golden Saint Berdoodle.

Marseille, who lives at the Jordan Condominiums in Canoga Park, said she had been celebrating the Knicks’ first NBA title in 53 years on Saturday night. About 10 minutes later, she said, her dog was dead.

According to authorities, LAPD officers were sent to the complex after a report of loud voices and a possible domestic dispute involving two women.

Marseille, a nurse and New York native, told Fox 11 that when officers arrived, she explained that she was by herself. She said police then noticed Jameson and instructed her to secure the dog.

“I’m like, ‘Oh no, it’s just me,’” Marseille told the station. “And then they saw Jameson, and the one officer said, ‘Put the dog away.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, no problem.’”

The dog mom said Jameson escaped outside and approached the cops: ‘The next thing I know, Jameson is lying on the ground.’

She explained: ‘But Jameson wasn’t baring his teeth, he wasn’t growling, he wasn’t aggressive, he wasn’t barking. He was just moving toward the officer.’

However, according to a preliminary report from the LAPD, officials claimed that Jameson charged one of the officers.

Jameson, who was wearing a Knicks T-shirt, died at the scene.

The heartbreaking footage showed the aftermath of the shooting as Marseille cried over the lifeless body of her pup.

Screaming in tears, she yelled out: ‘The Knicks just won a championship. We were just so happy. We were just trying to celebrate the Knicks.’

An angry neighbor can be heard telling the dozen cops standing by: ‘What is the purpose of all of you? This is what we pay for?’

The TikTok footage alone has received over 12.5 million views and nearly 2.5 million likes at the time of this report.

A GoFundMe set up ‘to get justice for Jameson and any cremation fees’ has raised more than $55,000.
