CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago is bracing for a stretch of dangerous heat this week as temperatures and humidity climb across the area.

ABC7 Chicago meteorologists have issued an AccuWeather Alert from Monday through Thursday because of extreme heat conditions.

ABC7 meteorologist Jaisol Martinez said heat index readings are expected to reach between 100 and 105 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Cook County from noon Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday.
