The husband of Brooke Haggerty Hanlon, a 35-year-old psychotherapist and new mother who was fatally stabbed last month at the couple’s rural home in Chester, New Jersey, can be heard in a newly reported 911 call crying out in panic, saying there was “blood everywhere.”
“I just found my wife! … She’s not breathing or conscious,” Conor Hanlon, 36, screamed during the emergency call. “What the f**k, what the f**k! I need CPR. Oh my God there’s a laceration in there!”
His distress was evident throughout the call, with his cries at moments becoming so high-pitched that his words were difficult to make out.
“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God I need help immediately! … I need an ambulance! I don’t know what to do, what the f**k,” he told the dispatcher.
The 911 operator directed Hanlon to begin chest compressions in an attempt to revive Brooke. On the recording, he can be heard trying to steady himself, saying, “I got this, I got this, come on Brooke.”
As he continued CPR, Hanlon again referred to her stab wounds, repeatedly asking “what the f**k happened,” while crying and struggling to follow the dispatcher’s instructions until emergency crews reached the scene.
When first responders arrived, Hanlon can be heard telling them, “I found her,” shortly before the call came to an end.

In the 911 call, Conor Hanlon said he is with his wife on the second floor of their home on Pottersville Road, a rural area abutting woods and forests in the posh hunt country of Morris County.
The couple had moved to Chester, Brooke’s hometown, about two years ago after meeting in Conor Hanlon’s native Boston.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has been strangely tight-lipped about the murder, not even identifying Brooke as the victim until after the Daily Mail revealed it exclusively on June 26.
Conor Hanlon has not been seen or heard in public since his wife’s death. Brooke’s father, Joseph Haggerty, told the Daily Mail that Avery is living with him and Brooke’s mother Melissa at their home in Chester.
To add to the mystery, Conor Hanlon’s white Volvo has reportedly been spotted 250 miles away in his hometown of Boston amid rumors that he’s lawyered up.
After weeks of silence, his aunt has now come forward to tell the Daily Mail that her nephew is innocent – and she insists he was not involved in the bloody murder.
‘He had nothing to do with it,’ his aunt, who asked that her name not be used, said Thursday. ‘He has been in touch with police. They’ve never arrested him.

‘It’s the saddest story in the world,’ she added, claiming that she did not know exactly where Conor was and if he has returned to Boston.
‘I think there are other possibilities, like maybe they are looking at Brooke’s patients.’
Other members of Conor Hanlon’s large extended family were not as talkative.
His uncle, Francis Hanlon, answered the door cordially at his West Roxbury home but his face darkened when asked about his nephew.
‘I don’t know what you’re talking about,’ he said, and quickly shut the door.
Another female relative who identified herself as Mrs. Hanlon and lives at the address where Conor Hanlon’s father is listed as living, was also friendly for a moment before being asked about Conor.
‘I don’t know who you’re talking about,’ she said, and shut the door before any more questions could be asked.

The mystery has left residents of Chester, just 90 minutes from Manhattan, worried and baffled – especially as detectives continue to show up on their doorsteps asking questions several weeks after Haggerty’s death.
Three different neighbors of the Hanlons told the Daily Mail that they knew him slightly but almost never saw Brooke. One neighbor reported seeing Conor out in front of their house on the morning of the murder.
‘It’s very weird,’ one neighbor told the Daily Mail. ‘At first we were told there was no danger to the public but the cops are still asking questions after all these weeks and now there’s a reward.’

Cars belonging to both Brooke and Conor were parked outside their Pottersville Road home for weeks after the murder until Conor’s white Volvo disappeared last week.
Brooke Hanlon, who grew up in Chester, was most recently a licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist who worked with children, adolescents and families.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wake Forest University and got her master’s in counseling psychology at Northeastern University in Boston.
She held various counseling jobs in the Boston area before moving back to her hometown in 2024.
Her bio at LifeStance, a website for therapists and psychiatrists in nearby Bernardsville, was scrubbed not long after her death.
A LifeStance spokesperson told the Daily Mail the company is ‘deeply saddened’ by her death.
‘Brooke was a beloved member of our Bernardsville team and an exceptional therapist who was highly dedicated to her clients.’
The Hanlons, who tied the knot in June 2021, moved into their $550,000 home two years ago.
