An 18-year-old woman has been identified as the victim found dead inside a Boston property owned by the husband of progressive US Representative Ayanna Pressley.
Yoseliani Marte was discovered by police after she was fatally shot at an eight-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Mattapan shortly before 2pm on Saturday.
Boston officers were initially sent to the address after receiving a call to “investigate a person,” but upon entering the property they found Marte’s body, Officer James Moccia told the Daily Mail.
Moccia and the Boston Police Department have not officially released the victim’s name. However, Marte’s family publicly identified her through a GoFundMe page launched Sunday by her mother, Elenie Ocasio.
In the fundraiser, Ocasio wrote that her daughter’s death was the result of “domestic violence,” though she did not share further details about the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The fatal shooting took place inside a two-family rental home owned by Pressley’s husband, 49-year-old Conan Harris.
Pressley, 52, and Harris do not reside at the Mattapan address, which appears to be on the market. Thumbprint Realty listed the property last month for $1.15 million, after Harris bought it in 2021 for $340,000.
Chantae Turner, the couple’s realtor, told the Boston Globe that the home’s current tenants had been there for “a while,” although authorities have not confirmed whether Marte lived at the property.

Turner said she did not know any details about what occurred on Saturday and declined to comment further on the death, which she described as ‘unfortunate.’
Moccia told the Daily Mail that Marte’s death is being investigated by the BPD Homicide Unit.
The house was cordoned off over the weekend with crime scene tape, and officers were seen standing guard at the door.
A neighbor alleged that this is not the first time that there has been an active police presence at the rental property.
She told the Globe that the home was raided by BPD officers two months ago, about a month before it was listed for sale.
On the GoFundMe page, which was organized to cover the cost of funeral arrangements, Marte’s mother said: ‘No words can truly express the pain of losing someone so young, with so many dreams, hopes, and milestones still ahead of her.’
She added that her daughter was ‘deeply loved by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. Her kindness, beautiful spirit, and bright future will never be forgotten.’
Pressley’s congressional district covers much of the Boston area, and it emerged last year that she and her husband raked in $350,000 after collecting rent from four properties in the Bay State, as well as selling a Florida home.

The property in Mattapan, where Marte was killed, netted them as much as $100,000 in 2025, according to financial disclosure statements.
Another two units in Boston both had rental incomes listed as being between $15,000 and $50,000.
The progressive congresswoman also collected rent for a property in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. The New York Post reported its worth as $1.1 million.
That three-bedroom property in the ritzy enclave also brought them somewhere between $15,000 and $50,000.
On top of their rental collections, they parted ways with a home in Fort Lauderdale, with their profit listed as being between $50,000 and $100,000.
Pressley’s spokesperson told the Daily Mail: ‘The Congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family.’
Pressley is a Democrat and member of the House’s informal, left-wing ‘Squad.’
