Tycoon dies after plunging from 28th floor Miami balcony

An Israeli-American entrepreneur has died following a fall from the 28th floor of a high-end oceanfront tower in the Miami area.

Family members identified the man as 45-year-old Yakir Levi, who fell Monday night from the Acqualina Resort and Residences On The Beach in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.

Authorities said police officers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were called to the luxury property shortly after 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports that an adult male had fallen from the building.

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told the Daily Mail that first responders confirmed the fall when they arrived, and fire rescue personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Investigators were still working to formally identify the deceased and notify next of kin, the sheriff’s office said, and officials had not yet publicly confirmed Levi’s identity.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau is now handling the case, which is being treated as an unclassified death investigation.

The spokesperson added that the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death following an autopsy.

A woman listed on Facebook as Levi’s sister shared an emotional tribute after his death, writing: “My dear precious brother. I entrust his soul to the Creator. May someone wake me up from this crazy nightmare.”
