Illinois Democrats reject Trump’s offer to help curb Chicago crime
Harris Faulkner covered Chicago’s rising violent crime concerns, including President Trump’s repeated offers to send the National Guard into the city. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson sharply criticized the proposal, saying Trump does not understand Chicago’s public safety needs and has cut funding for institutions that help protect residents.
