Delta Flight Met by Police After Reported Passenger–Flight Attendant Dispute

A reported confrontation between a passenger and a flight attendant led authorities to meet a Delta Air Lines plane after it touched down in Atlanta, according to the carrier.

ATLANTA — Law enforcement officers responded to a Delta Air Lines flight upon its arrival in Atlanta on Monday after the airline said a dispute occurred onboard involving a passenger and a member of the cabin crew.

Delta Flight 2293, operated on a Boeing 737-900, was traveling from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Aug. 10. The flight had 180 passengers and four flight attendants onboard.

Delta confirmed that authorities met the aircraft after landing but did not release specifics about what sparked the disagreement. The airline also did not say whether anyone was detained, arrested or issued a citation.

“Delta has zero tolerance for disruptive or unruly behavior, especially when it impacts the safety of our people and our customers,” the airline said in a statement. “We apologize to our customers for the disruption and will cooperate with law enforcement.”

The FBI did not immediately share further details. The incident is still under investigation.
