A professor often referred to as “China’s Nostradamus” has issued a stark set of predictions for 2027, warning that political unrest in the United States could intensify to the brink of civil war.
Jiang Xueqin, a Chinese-Canadian educator and political commentator, picked up the nickname after making several geopolitical forecasts that his supporters claim were later proven right.
Those past claims include predicting Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, as well as forecasting that the US and Israel would become drawn into a conflict with Iran during Trump’s second term.
Jiang has now outlined what he describes as a troubling chain of events beginning next year, driven by the war in Iran and worsening political divisions inside America.
Speaking to podcast host Jack Neel, Jiang said: “All the ingredients for civil war should already be in place. Nationwide discontent and riots and protests and insurgencies. The global economy should have collapsed by 2027.”
He specifically warned that the situation in Iran could deteriorate into a full-scale war, forcing the US into a ground invasion and potentially keeping American forces tied to a Middle East conflict for another decade.
According to Jiang, the demand for ground troops in Iran would then push the US government to reinstate a national draft, making military service mandatory for men as young as 18.
He also predicted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE, would gain expanded power in major cities before an economic collapse in the US gives way to widespread riots, protests and, ultimately, the possibility of civil war.

Unlike psychics and clairvoyants, Jiang said he is able to accurately predict future events using three main tools, including treating countries and leaders like poker players.
He asks what each one thinks ‘winning’ looks like, then guesses their next move from that goal.
The teacher said he then compared today’s events with old disasters that look similar. If a confident empire once got stuck in a long war, he uses that pattern as a warning, not as proof.
From there, Jiang said he watches what the most driven groups already believe must happen. If religious or political players believe in biblical end times prophecies, he assumes they will act as if that ending is an actual plan.
Trump, Jiang claims, believes God gave him a mission to save America. Winning a war in Iran is optional. The real goal would be to keep power and secure a third presidential term in 2028.
‘I think this war between United States and Iran will only escalate. There can be no offramp. You’ll see a ground invasion of Iran, which case America’s going to be stuck there four years, I think, is optimistic. Possibly ten, 20 years,’ Jiang said during the April 2026 podcast.
‘By 2027, you should have the framework for national draft already in place. ICE will be much more powerful than people imagine. They want to deploy National Guard to all major cities in America because they’re preparing for economic collapse.’
‘He’s got no ego in this thing. His job is to get a third term so that he can save America,’ he added when explaining President Trump’s alleged motivations in Iran.

Jiang claimed the war in Iran would lead to global economic collapse in 2027, triggered by the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz

Jiang Xueqin predicted that the war in Iran would eventually led to the US bringing back the national draft and a ground war in the Middle East
Regarding Jiang’s fourth prediction of an economic collapse, he explained that continuous shutdowns of the Strait of Hormuz could be the trigger that wrecks the global economy.
He noted that cheap energy and fast shipping through this key waterway hold the global financial system up.
Jiang has already seen parts of this prediction come true in 2026, with shutdowns of the Strait during the US bombing campaign causing prices on oil, gas and fertilizer to skyrocket.
The increases in gas and fertilizer prices had a devastating trickle-down effect on other goods, including food, with Jiang warning that another shutdown in 2027 could destabilize the world.
‘If America loses this war, it means the collapse of the American economy,’ he warned.
As for his final prediction of a second US civil war, the man called ‘China’s Nostradamus’ explained that he did not foresee two armies fighting on US soil.
Instead, he predicted the US would see unrest everywhere, including protests, riots, low-level fighting and local insurgencies – mainly in response to a growing presence of ICE and the National Guard in all major cities.
By 2030, Jiang warned that he foresaw a larger fight between ‘globalists’ and ‘nationalists’ escalating in both the US and Europe.
