A 76-year-old Georgia woman has been accused of killing her former husband and his girlfriend after allegedly storming into their trailer and opening fire because she opposed their relationship.
Grace Edge was arrested and charged in the deaths of her ex-husband, 75-year-old Wallace Truman Edge, and Pamela Cook, 40. Authorities said the pair were targeted Monday afternoon at a residence in Toombs County, Georgia.
Investigators allege that Edge entered the home on McNatt Falls Road in Uvalda and fired five shots during the attack.
Wallace Edge and Cook were struck a total of four times and died at the scene from their injuries, WTOC reported.
Cook’s 55-year-old mother, Diane Cook, was also inside the residence. She called 911 during the shooting and suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.
“She just come in start shooting,” the elder Cook told police, according to WTOC.
When asked whether an argument had preceded the gunfire, the distraught caller said there had not been one. “No, she come in just shooting,” she told the dispatcher.

Authorities said Grace and Wallace Edge had divorced more than 10 years ago but continued an intermittent relationship. That relationship reportedly changed after Wallace Edge began dating Cook.
“Mr. Edge had started dating Pamela, and it appears that based on information we received that Grace was not accepting of the situation,” Toombs County Sheriff Jordan Kight told WTOC.
Edge was taken into custody soon after the shooting.
“We believe she had drove straight from the residence where this happened and drove straight here to the sheriff’s office,” Kight said.
Kight also said the former couple had repeatedly contacted police about one another, reporting alleged domestic disputes and other incidents at their home.
According to WTOC, none of the previous reports, which numbered in the dozens, resulted in an arrest.
Edge faces seven charges in connection with the killings: two counts of malice murder, two counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
She remains held at the Toombs County Detention Center and is awaiting her first court appearance, police said.
