A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Florida college homecoming celebration that left 11 people injured over the weekend, including six children. Police said none of the victims appeared to be the intended targets.
Anthony Rivers III was detained Sunday, one day after the shooting at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, the Tallahassee Police Department said in a statement.
Police said Rivers had been involved in “a physical altercation” with someone he knew before the gunfire erupted.
“None of the victims appear to have been the intended targets,” the department said in an update.
Rivers is facing 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a delinquent, according to police.

“While this arrest marks a significant step forward, our work is far from over. We remain committed to holding those responsible accountable and getting answers for every family impacted by this tragedy,” he added.
