Sydney Sweeney shared a warm on-set reunion with Michele Morrone on Friday while filming the sequel to The Housemaid in New York City.
The 29-year-old actress, who also leads the lingerie brand SYRN, hugged her 36-year-old co-star during a tender moment between takes.
The original The Housemaid, released in 2025, was adapted from Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel of the same title.
Sweeney returns as Millie, a live-in housekeeper determined to rebuild her life, while Italian actor Morrone plays Enzo Accardi, the enigmatic groundskeeper.
Sweeney’s filming-day wardrobe consisted of olive cargo trousers, a denim jacket and black boots.
Morrone opted for a black sweater, dark gray trousers and sunglasses.

Earlier this week, Sweeney filmed a kiss scene with Off Campus star Stephen Kalyn, who plays her character’s attorney boyfriend, Brock
Earlier in the week, Sweeney was also photographed filming a kissing scene with Off Campus actor Stephen Kalyn, who portrays Brock, Millie’s attorney boyfriend.
In the first installment, Millie is hired by Nina Winchester, Amanda Seyfried’s seemingly sophisticated character, who is married to Andrew Winchester, played by Brandon Sklenar.
But the polished image of the Winchester household soon starts to unravel, leaving Millie caught in a perilous situation.
The erotic thriller was made for $35 million and earned more than $400 million globally after arriving in theaters in December 2025.
The success made it the highest-grossing film of both director Paul Feig’s and Sweeney’s careers.
The Hollywood Reporter reported in January that a sequel was in development, with Feig set to return behind the camera.
Meanwhile, Business Insider said screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine had completed the follow-up’s script before the first film became a box-office hit.
Sweeney previously revealed that she was eager to bring Millie back for another chapter.
Speaking to People, she said, “I would love to [reprise the role].”
“I was such a huge fan of the books, so I would be just as happy as everyone else being able to see more Housemaid stories come to life and getting to explore more of Millie,” she added enthusiastically.

Sweeney previously described her character by saying: “She’s spicy. She is a fighter. She knows what she believes in and she stands up for it”
Sweeney has praised Millie’s strength, describing her as “spicy” and a determined fighter who refuses to back down from her beliefs.
“I love characters like that. I love seeing movies that have just fully embraced female rage,” she said.
Feig has also described Sweeney as confident and “body positive,” saying she does not approach her work through the same insecurity he has seen in many other actors.
He told The Times: “She’s very proud of how she looks, and you should be. There are so many people I’ve encountered where you’re fighting against their insecurity. She would say: ‘I love women’s bodies,’ and that’s so healthy.”
Sweeney filmed intimate scenes with Sklenar in the original movie, and Feig said the two performers were comfortable with the demands of appearing nude on camera. The director, however, admitted that filming such scenes makes him feel uneasy.
“There’s nobody more uncomfortable with it [onscreen nudity] than this guy [me],” he told the publication.
Feig also credited the film’s intimacy coordinator, calling the growing presence of such professionals on movie sets a positive development for Hollywood.
“[It’s] the greatest thing that’s happened in Hollywood. When you have a 63-year-old man amongst all these beautiful young people, you don’t want to be the pervy porn producer, telling people to do stuff,” he said.
