Dolly Parton’s Nephew Defends Sister After Museum Job Firing

Bryan Seaver, Dolly Parton’s nephew, has publicly defended his sister Rebecca Seaver following her reported dismissal from Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum.

“I am very proud of my sister Rebecca Seaver and her endeavors building Dolly’s archive and museum,” Bryan, 49, wrote in a Facebook post published Saturday.

He also addressed his relationship with his cousin Danielle Parton, describing her as his closest family member and longtime friend.

“My cousin Danielle Parton is my closest family and my buddy. We are nearest in age and have always been pals,” he wrote.

Bryan added that he would continue supporting Danielle as she pursues her career and personal journey.

“I have always and will forever sing her praises and support her as she goes about her journey and career,” he said.

He emphasized that there was no family conflict behind his comments, writing: “Both of these women are dynamos in their fields and there is no feud between us. I love them both with all my heart.”

Our News Outlet has contacted representatives for Bryan Seaver, Dolly Parton’s estate and the museum for additional comment.

Bryan’s statement followed a report from TMZ claiming that Parton’s estate had removed Rebecca from her role as executive director of Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum at the Nashville-based SongTeller Hotel.

According to sources cited by the outlet, the employees who reported to Rebecca were also dismissed from their positions at the museum.

The museum opened inside the hotel on September 29. Rebecca reportedly helped develop the attraction alongside Parton’s sister, Rachel Parton George.

Bryan himself was dismissed in September from his position as head of security for Parton’s properties and businesses.

His departure became part of a legal dispute after Danny Nozell, manager of Parton’s estate, accused him of making threatening statements. Bryan has denied the allegations.

The disputed communications have emerged during an ongoing court battle involving a temporary restraining order obtained against Seaver by the late singer’s estate.

In a court filing last month, Bryan argued that text messages described as threatening had been taken out of context. The messages were exchanged amid a disagreement over a Nashville property connected to Parton’s estate.

According to a filing reviewed by Page Six on October 13, Seaver said he had been communicating with Nozell, a longtime friend and manager of Parton’s, in a private conversation.

Seaver also addressed earlier messages in which he discussed his military background and experience with weapons. He claimed Nozell had previously encouraged him to promote his work in the arms business.

In the filing, Seaver said that his promise to “destroy Dolly’s brand partnerships” referred to potential business actions rather than physical violence.

He acknowledged using profanity in the messages, which were sent around the time of Parton’s death on August 25.

Seaver said the dispute partly involved an unpaid balance of $251,000 owed to his company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, for security work performed at properties owned by the late entertainer. He said the amount has since been paid.

He also described concerns about the SongTeller Hotel, including alleged safety violations, construction delays and claims that some security guards slept or used marijuana while on duty.

Seaver claimed Parton had supported his efforts to raise those concerns with Herschend Family Entertainment, the company operating the SongTeller Hotel and Dollywood.

As part of his filing, Seaver submitted a letter written by Parton on November 11, 2024. According to the outlet, she described his organization as “very professional, very discreet, and very good at what they do.” Parton also wrote that Seaver had led her security team for years and wanted him to meet with venue managers before selecting a security company.

Seaver further stated that he and Nozell exchanged more cordial messages after the texts characterized as threatening in court documents.

The two men, who announced Parton’s death together in an August video, also discussed the possibility of Seaver appearing as a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, according to the filing.

Seaver denied claims that his messages had prompted an attorney for the estate to resign.

He said Nozell told him on September 10 that two attorneys had left the estate, adding that the bank had been “taking everything over.”

The latest filing comes after She’s Alive LLC, which is led by Nozell, accused Seaver of making threats involving violence and business sabotage. The company sought a restraining order, alleging that his conduct had harmed the business and those connected to it.

Seaver argued that the order was overly broad, including provisions that barred him from coming within 1,000 feet of certain family members who work with She’s Alive.

He also told the court that the dispute had drawn unwanted media attention, with reporters appearing at his home and approaching relatives, including his wife’s 96-year-old grandmother.

At one stage, Seaver claimed, his 17-year-old son placed barbed wire near the entrance to the family home in an effort to deter unwanted visitors, according to the outlet.

Seaver also said a magnetized camera had been found near the property, though he stated that its origin was unknown.
