New White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller promised “absolute loyalty” and “unwavering commitment” to President Trump and the nation shortly after being chosen for the influential role.
Miller, a combative longtime Trump ally who once energized rally audiences after joining the president’s campaign in 2015, made the remarks Friday night at Mar-a-Lago. Trump elevated Miller as his chief enforcer and replaced Chief of Staff Susie Wiles after a Democratic surge in the midterm elections cost Republicans ground.
“Let me tell you, if it wasn’t for President Trump, the United States of America would not exist right now,” Miller, 41, declared. “This man saved America.
“This man took a bullet for us. He faced down life in prison for us. He saved the Republican Party from the ash heap of history and has made us stronger, more popular, and more resilient than ever before,” he added.

“It is the honor of my life to be President Trump’s chief of staff, and I swear to you, and I pledge to you, Mr. President, my absolute loyalty, my unwavering commitment, and my total devotion to your success and the success of this country.”
Trump selected the outspoken Miller, a key architect of his immigration crackdown, as the administration prepares to contend with a newly empowered Democratic House and Senate.
Democratic lawmakers have pledged to challenge the administration’s positions on immigration, the war in Iran and tariffs, while also launching investigations into members of Trump’s team.
