Gary Gardner, a fence contractor in Colorado has pleaded guilty to stealing from customers and will have to pay over $42,000 in restitution.

Gary Gardner abandoned fence construction projects after collecting payment from customers.

The case came to light in 2022 when customers of Gary Gardner reported the incidents to the newsroom. Gary Gardner entered two plea agreements and will serve two years of probation.

One victim expressed discovering the situation later through a news interview, where Gary Gardner promised reimbursement but did not provide evidence of his health claims related to brain tumors.

In court, Gary Gardner apologized for his actions and presented checks to reimburse those who were affected by his wrongdoing.

Gary Gardner admitted that he had hurt families who trusted him with their money and had not treated them fairly.

In his statement, Gary Gardner expressed remorse for the impact his actions had on his own family, as they faced bullying and humiliation because of his poor business practices, according to KKTV report.

The Vice President of a homeowner’s association, one of the victims of Gary Gardner, described the resolution as bittersweet and criticized the lack of jail time for Gary Gardner.

The judge warned Gary Gardner about future infractions and urged him to be a better person, KKTV added.
