A major search operation is currently unfolding in south-west Sydney following an overnight incident involving both shooting and stabbing.
The police were alerted around 10 PM when a 30-year-old man arrived at Bankstown Hospital seeking medical help for injuries, including a gunshot wound to his abdomen and hand, as well as a stab wound to his shoulder.
After initial assessment by medical staff, he was moved to another hospital for more intensive care, remaining in a serious condition.
Authorities have since established a crime scene on Kentucky Road in Riverwood, as part of their ongoing investigation.
Detectives are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to question the victim once his condition improves, to piece together the events leading to his injuries.
The police have issued an appeal for anyone with information related to the case—especially those who were near Kentucky Road just before 10 PM and might have noticed anything unusual or have dashcam footage—to reach out to Campsie Police or Crime Stoppers.
