Details are emerging following the discovery of a body in a car owned by singer D4vd, identified as a 15-year-old runaway who disappeared nearly 18 months ago.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was only 13 years old when she vanished from her home in Lake Elsinore in early 2024, according to CrimeOnline. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her identity but has yet to establish her cause of death.

Her body was discovered in a Tesla registered to the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, at a tow yard in Hollywood on September 8. The car had been there for several days after being reported abandoned. The body was placed in a bag within the vehicle’s front trunk.

Investigators were spotted examining a residence near the car’s location on Wednesday, a property where D4vd, currently on tour, had stayed. Reports suggest the home is under lease by his manager, Josh Marshall, as reported by TMZ.

Earlier, police said that the body found in the Tesla had a “Shhh…” tattoo on the right index finger, a tattoo that D4vd also has.

Incidentally, many celebrities sport a similar tattoo, a trend popularized in 2008 when Rihanna got hers. Other stars like Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen have also adopted the same tattoo.

TMZ highlighted a leaked D4vd song from December 2023. The song, “Celeste_Demo unfin,” was removed from SoundCloud thereafter. While it’s unconfirmed if the song references the missing teenager, Rivas’ mother mentioned her daughter had a boyfriend named David.

There have also been photos and images purported to show the two together, but none of that has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, D4vd’s record label has reportedly cancelled promotion of his music even as his tour continues, The Tab reported. Some of his tour dates were cancelled in wake of the identification of Rivas’s body. The tour was originally scheduled to end Saturday in Los Angeles.
