In the days leading up to her disappearance, Kada Scott confided in friends about being harassed both online and via phone. She then started her night shift at a high-end assisted living facility, scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Not long after she clocked in, Kada left the premises, leaving her car in the parking lot with no surveillance cameras in sight. Her phone began directing calls straight to voicemail, suggesting it might now be turned off, and her social media accounts fell silent.
Two weeks into the search, authorities arrested 21-year-old Keon King in connection with Kada’s kidnapping, though she remains unaccounted for. Investigators urged the public’s assistance in locating King’s 1999 gold Toyota Camry, bearing the Pennsylvania license plate MSX0797. Shortly after, a resident at Gypsy Lane Condos recalled seeing a vehicle matching that description parked for nearly a week.
Police quickly converged on the community, home to King’s family, sealing off the parking area for further investigation. Upon confirming the car’s ownership, authorities towed the Toyota.
Surveillance footage revealed the vehicle entering the gated parking lot at Gypsy Lane five days prior to the tow. A resident had opened the gate for the driver, who lingered in the car for approximately 35 minutes before departing. The driver’s identity, however, remains uncertain.
Interestingly, just a fortnight before Kada vanished, King had listed the car for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Police are also spreading out from the last search at Awbury Arboretum. Acting on a tip, officers search across the street at the now-abandoned Ada Lewis Middle School.
During a grid search outside the locked building, they recover some of Kada’s belongings: her debit card and pink phone case.
