A 43-year-old man from California has been taken into custody following a distressing 911 call from his father, who pleaded for assistance, saying, “he stabbed me.”

According to a statement from the Barstow Police Department, the emergency call came just past midnight on Wednesday. When officers arrived, they discovered the 63-year-old father outside the residence, suffering from facial injuries and cuts on his neck and finger.

The police report indicates that the father informed officers his son, Jimmy Vincent, a resident of Barstow, had suddenly grabbed a knife, issued threats to kill him, and began to punch and attempt to stab him. The father added that Vincent had remained inside the house with the weapon.

Officers set up a perimeter around the property, and Vincent eventually exited the home, allowing for his arrest. Medical teams attended to his father’s injuries while officers located a bloody kitchen knife at the scene.

Vincent was taken to the High Desert Detention Center, facing charges of attempted murder and making criminal threats.

Jail records reveal that Vincent’s bond is set at $1 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
