Two young girls, ages 7 and 4, experienced a concerning encounter on Percy Street in Rozelle around 10:30 a.m. yesterday. An unidentified man approached them in his vehicle, offering them candy.

The situation shifted when a family member of the girls appeared on the street, prompting the man to drive away towards Denison Street.

Authorities have released CCTV footage of a car and are seeking to interview the driver, who might provide valuable information for their investigation.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, likely in his 60s or 70s, with an unkempt beard.

He was last observed wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and driving a dark grey Toyota Camry sedan.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about the man to reach out to the Leichhardt Police or contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
