The FBI has announced a $10,000 reward in the search for a 63-year-old woman from Nevada who has been missing for more than a year.
Besalynn “Bessy” Mary James was last spotted on January 20, 2025, at her home located on the Lummi Nation Indian Reservation in Bellingham, Washington, according to KTVB 7. More details can be found here.
Authorities speculate that James may be in Idaho, though she also has connections in Sacramento, California, and Nyssa, Oregon, as noted by the FBI.
The Seattle Times highlights that James left her possessions behind, including her dogs—a departure from her usual behavior of not leaving home without them. More information is available in the Seattle Times report.
James is described as being 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her arm that reads “Bes” and was last seen in a black jacket.
Anyone with information on her disappearance is encouraged to reach out to the FBI by calling their toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Seattle Field Office at (206) 622-0460.
