The Chatham County jury trial concerning the 2023 double homicide of 16-year-old Semaj Floyd and 20-year-old Omarion Whitfield in Savannah, Ga., has been postponed for a month.

spoke with Floyd’s aunt, Tiffany Reed, who sent us the following statement:

“The families are ready for it to be over.”

Originally, jury selection was to commence today for defendants Harold Roberson, 21, Vaquez Coleman, 20, and Joshua Reddick, 24. They face various charges related to the deaths of Floyd and Whitfield, who were fatally shot on Dec. 4, 2023, at the intersection of Amaranth and Perth St.

Vaquez Coleman, 20

Court officials cited a change in counsel for at least one of the defendants as a reason for the delay.

Previously, Harold Roberson was sentenced to life with the chance of parole on Sept. 10, following a Chatham County jury’s conviction for the murder of Travis Edwards at the Bricktowne Flats apartments in May 2021.

Vaquez Coleman, Roberson’s co-defendant in the Edwards case, was cleared of all murder allegations but received a five-year prison term for attempting a felony linked to marijuana.

At the time, Roberson and Coleman were released on bond while awaiting trial for Edwards’ murder when they were implicated in the 2023 double homicide.

Joshua Reddick was arrested April 14 and indicted with Coleman and Roberson in May 2025.

Joshua Reddick, 24

The three defendants face charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit a felony.

Court records show the jury trial is slated to begin Nov. 3, with a pre-trial hearing Oct. 27.
