OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A Kissimmee man was arrested earlier this month after authorities say he tried to get away from deputies while driving an RV, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
In a Tuesday news release, deputies said the incident unfolded on June 12, when the man “decided to test his luck” and drove off instead of stopping for law enforcement.
Investigators identified the driver as 45-year-old Louis Anthony Robles and said he began swerving across lane markings while driving recklessly and refusing to pull over.
“While his getaway vehicle wasn’t exactly built for speed, that didn’t stop him from creating a dangerous situation on the roadway,” the release reads. “During his attempt to evade law enforcement, he struck two other vehicles before the pursuit came to a halt.”
Deputies said Robles was eventually taken into custody and is now facing the following charges:
Driving while license revoked as a habitual traffic offender
Fleeing to elude with lights and sirens activated
Reckless driving
DUI (damage to property)
Leaving scene of an accident with injuries
Resisting a law enforcement officer without violence
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of a controlled substance
Video of the chase and subsequent arrest can be found at the top of this story.
