Central Illinois was abuzz with high school sports excitement on Tuesday night, as fans gathered to witness some thrilling volleyball and boys’ soccer competitions. The evening featured important sectional semifinals for IHSA boys’ soccer and regional semifinals for IHSA volleyball.

In boys’ soccer, the 1A sectional semifinals delivered decisive victories for the teams involved. Effingham showcased their prowess on the field with an impressive 4-0 win over Carlinville, demonstrating their tactical superiority and teamwork. Similarly, Rochester dominated their match against Teutopolis, also securing a 4-0 victory and proving their strength as a formidable contender in the tournament.
