$20K offered in search for missing Indiana teen Ja'Niyah McMichael

() The FBI and the city of Gary are offering a combined $20,000 reward in the search for missing Indian teen Ja’Niyah McMichael.

Ja’Niyah, now 14, was reported missing Aug. 12, 2024. Investigators believe she may be the “victim of foul play,” and said she has connections to both Gary and East Chicago, Indiana.

She was last seen wearing black pajama pants, a black hoodie and red and black shoes.

The FBI is offering $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of someone responsible for her disappearance. Gary is matching that amount for a total of $20,000.

Her grandmother, Dalia Guerrero, spoke to CBS News on April 28, Ja’Niyah’s birthday.

“Ja’Niyah, wherever you may be today, your nana loves you,” Guerrero said. “Happy birthday wherever you are.”

Reports regarding Ja’Niyah’s case can be made at the FBI’s toll-free tipline, 1-800-CALL-FBI, a local FBI office or online at tips.fbi.gov.
