Storm Team 3: Drier, hotter days are expected the rest of the week

Storm Team 3: Anticipate hotter, drier days for the remainder of the week

Tuesday brought drier weather to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, as anticipated. However, a few showers and intense downpours did form later in the afternoon and carried on into the early evening.

Overnight, the weather will be partly cloudy and mostly dry. Temperatures will stay mild, ranging from the 60s to the low 70s, with coastal areas remaining warmer than those inland.

On Wednesday, a drier weather pattern will be firmly established as high pressure strengthens over the southeast. Expect very warm temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

There is a low chance for a few isolated showers or storms in the afternoon. Most locations will miss out on the any meaningful rainfall.

Late-week and into the weekend will be hot. High temperatures will warm into the mid 90s. High humidity will make conditions feel hotter with heat index values in the mid and upper 90s.

River flooding will be an issue going into mid-week due to the heavy rain this past weekend. Flood warnings have been issued for portions of the Savannah, Canoochee and Ohooppee Rivers.

Our local rivers are not forecast to reach major flood stages, but river levels will rise over the next day or so.
