Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s son Pax was seen out in Los Angeles on Saturday, as new claims emerged suggesting he has remained in contact with members of his father’s family.
The sighting comes after Pax’s older brother, Maddox, 24, reportedly became the latest of the former couple’s six children to submit legal paperwork seeking to remove Pitt from his surname.
Pitt and Jolie, once one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples, share three biological children — Shiloh, 20, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne — and adopted Maddox, Pax and Zahara, 21.
Pax has previously made his feelings about Pitt public. In 2020, he sharply criticized the actor, calling him a “world class a**hole” and alleging that his younger children were left “trembling in fear.” After Pax was involved in a dirt bike accident four years later, Pitt was reportedly unable to visit him while he was hospitalized.
However a source alleged this week that Pax, 22, still meets with his paternal extended family and has not filed to excise Pitt from his name, according to Page Six.
Following the latest report, Pax was photographed during a weekend outing in hot Los Angeles weather, stopping to refuel his vintage Charger RT.

Several of the Jolie-Pitt children have distanced themselves from Pitt’s surname. Shiloh legally dropped it last year, while Zahara and Vivienne have also appeared to use Jolie instead of Jolie-Pitt in less formal settings.
The Daily Mail confirmed Maddox submitted paperwork this May to have Pitt officially taken off his double-barreled surname for ‘personal’ reasons.
Pax, on the other hand, has not done so, and a source maintained he ‘still has a relationship with his dad’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them.’
According to the insider, Pax ‘recently joined his family as they went out to dinner and celebrated his cousin Sydney’s engagement to Archimede Jerome,’ in a party that also included Brad Pitt’s sister Julie and niece Reagan.
However another source explained that Pax ‘doesn’t have much of a relationship with Brad,’ who is currently in a nearly four-year relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, the ex-wife of The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley.
Near the end of last month, Maddox filed paperwork with the aim of formalizing the name change he had already put into practice months earlier.
In his mother’s new French movie Couture, which was released this February and also starred Louis Garrel, he was credited merely as Maddox Jolie.
Two years earlier, he had been referred to by the name Maddox Jolie-Pitt in the credits of Jolie’s Oscar-nominated Maria Callas biopic Maria.

Pitt is said to be estranged from his children, an impression buttressed by the growing number of them who have dropped his surname.

The former couple infamously fell in love during the making of their 2005 movie Mr & Mrs Smith while he was still married to his first wife Jennifer Aniston.
Jolie, the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, maintained that she did not have an affair with Pitt while he was with Aniston.
‘To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive,’ she said on Today. ‘I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn’t be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife.’
Fans around the world began siding with ‘Team Jolie’ or ‘Team Aniston,’ as a furor erupted over the love triangle with Pitt at its center.
Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 but split two years later, triggering an explosive legal battle over money and custody that rages on to this day.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, after a mysterious dispute on a private plane in the presence of Maddox, who was then 15.

Early in the proceedings, the FBI looked into allegations that Pitt became ‘physical’ with Maddox on the jet, but the investigation was closed with no charges filed.
Jolie allegedly filed a Freedom of Information Act request as ‘Jane Doe’ in 2021 related to the FBI documents about the fateful 2016 plane ride.
She apparently dropped the action against the FBI on September 25, 2024, via legal documents obtained by In Touch magazine.
However, in court papers she had filed that April in a property dispute, Jolie accused Pitt of having been abusive to her ‘well before’ the plane ride.
Meanwhile Pax suffered a terrifying accident when he crashed his dirt bike into a car in Los Angeles while not wearing a helmet in July 2024.
Sources informed the Daily Mail that Jolie was ‘by his side in hospital,’ while Pitt was ‘distraught and worried over Pax’s accident, but he is unable to reach him.’
The accident came four years after Pax unleashed an explosive social media tirade calling his father a ‘world class a**hole’ and a ‘terrible and despicable person’ who had caused his four younger children to ‘tremble in fear.’
Jolie and Pitt are also still entangled in a legal conflict over the Chateau Miraval, the winery they once shared as a couple in the South of France.

The feud over the property stems from the fact Jolie sold her half to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $62 million in 2021, amid her divorce proceedings.
Shefler presides over a vast international alcohol empire including Stolichnaya and once sold a superyacht to Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Pitt sued Jolie over the Chateau Miraval sale, insisting she was contractually obligated to obtain his consent as co-owner before offloading her portion.
Jolie has brought up her abuse allegations and custody battle over the course of her years-long battle of wills with Pitt over the winery.
She has asked Pitt to ‘end the fighting’ and drop the Chateau Miraval lawsuit against her so that their family can have a chance to ‘heal.’
