Adelaide endured its hottest night on record, with temperatures not dropping below 34.1 degrees. Today, the mercury is expected to soar, potentially reaching 50 degrees in some regions, which might surpass previous temperature records.

New South Wales experienced its hottest day on January 11, 1939, with temperatures soaring to 50.1 degrees at the Wilcannia Post Office.
