In the wake of a tragic shooting incident in Melbourne’s inner north, homicide detectives have launched an investigation following the death of a man last night. The fatal event unfolded near the bustling intersection of Brunswick and King William Streets in Fitzroy, shortly past midnight.

Local police officers were quick to respond after the sound of gunfire echoed through the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from severe injuries that were ultimately life-threatening. Despite the swift efforts of emergency services, the man succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unknown, and authorities are working diligently to gather more information. This investigation is ongoing, as detectives seek to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Upon arrival, a male was located with life-threatening injuries.It is understood a vehicle fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Emergency services worked on the man, however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be identified.

Police are looking for at least one offender.

Investigations are still under way as police investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
