A woman is scheduled to appear in court today on charges related to domestic violence after an incident at a Newcastle hotel resulted in a man being stabbed yesterday morning.

Authorities were alerted to the situation at a hotel located on Young Street in Carrington around 10:50 a.m. following reports of a stabbing incident.

Upon their arrival, police officers discovered a 23-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. He had allegedly been attacked and stabbed by a woman whom the police believe he knew.

The injured man received immediate medical attention from paramedics on the scene before being transported to John Hunter Hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The 22-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.

She was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV), stalking and intimidating, intending fear and physical harm, and common assault.

She was refused bail and will appear in court today.
