A significant law enforcement operation in the southwestern United States aimed at locating Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman reported missing, concluded without any arrests being made.
Numerous law enforcement vehicles, including those from SWAT and forensic teams, were spotted near a residence approximately 4 kilometers from Guthrie’s home in Tucson. Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, a well-known US television host.
In addition to this, local authorities and the FBI were seen at a second site where law enforcement activities were also occurring.
It remains unclear if this second location is linked to the ongoing investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance.
During the operation, officers were observed examining a grey Range Rover parked in a restaurant lot.
According to CNN, the operations conducted on Saturday concluded without any arrests being made.
Law enforcement questioned one man but released him, believing him not to be the kidnapper, the official said. The man was cooperative.
Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on January 31.
Authorities say her blood was found on the front porch of her Tucson-area home.
Purported ransom notes were sent to news outlets, but two deadlines for paying have passed.
Guthrie was last seen at her Arizona home on January 31 and was reported missing the following day.
Authorities have expressed concerns for Guthrie’s health because she needs daily medication.
She is said to have a pacemaker and has dealt with high blood pressure and heart issues, according to sheriff’s dispatcher audio on broadcastify.com.
