Police are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that killed a baby and left two others seriously injured in Perth’s south-east overnight.

In the early hours of the morning, a tragic accident occurred when a silver Toyota Kluger left the roadway and collided with a tree on Nicholson Road in Lynwood, according to police reports. The incident happened around 3:40 a.m.

Among the occupants in the vehicle were a 32-year-old woman, a seven-month-old infant, and a three-year-old child, all of whom suffered severe injuries due to the crash.

The woman and her seven-month-old baby were immediately transported to Fiona Stanley Hospital. Tragically, the infant did not survive.

The three-year-old child was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital with critical injuries, where medical staff are continuing treatment.

A 35-year-old man, identified as a rideshare driver, was also in the vehicle. He sustained only minor injuries from the accident.

Authorities are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the crash or seen the silver Kluger in the vicinity prior to the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
