In a unified response, the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom have strongly denounced Iran for its recent assaults on the energy facilities of neighboring Arab countries.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office released a statement urging Iran to “immediately halt its threats, mine laying, and drone and missile strikes, as well as any actions aimed at obstructing commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Emphasizing the importance of maritime freedom, the statement highlighted that “freedom of navigation is a cornerstone of international law, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.”
