Boris Becker makes Bayern Munich transfer plea to Vincent Kompany for Premier League star

Bayern Munich may have already made their first signing of the summer window, but celebrity fan Boris Becker is still getting itchy feet.

New head coach Vincent Kompany has welcomed versatile defender Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart for £19million in what looks to be another busy summer.

However, long-time fan and tennis legend Becker has other ideas.

The six-time Grand Slam winner instead saw a report that Bayern are talking to Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, and he couldn’t help but comment.

Posting on social media, he wrote: “Vincent Kompany, please talk to Michael Olise quickly… FCBayern would benefit greatly!!!”

He isn’t the only sporting great to be a fan either, with Becker actually replying to NFL and Cincinnati Bengals icon Chad Johnson.

Palace forward Olise is understandably hot property this summer after a stunning season in south London.

The French player, originally from Hammersmith, has made a significant impression with ten goals and six assists in the Premier League, attracting the attention of several major clubs.

One of the primary contenders interested in him is Chelsea. According to talkSPORT, the Blues have taken the lead over Manchester United in the race by initiating discussions around a £60 million transfer.

However, it’s also understood that Bayern’s interest is also serious, having joined Enzo Maresca’s side in speaking to the player’s entourage.

Bayern currently boasts a robust forward lineup with talents like Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman. However, injuries and inconsistency disrupted their season last year.

It was largely Bayern’s defence that saw them concede the title to Bayer Leverkusen, though, and it’s claimed that they’re in advanced talks with one of their conquerors, Jonathan Tah.

Speculation also continues around the future of Joshua Kimmich, and it looks like Kompany’s first few months in Bavaria certainly won’t be quiet.
