Some of the nation’s most recognizable celebrities and FOX personalities traded the red carpet for hard hats Thursday, joining efforts to rebuild homes destroyed by the Palisades wildfires.
The appearance was part of a four-day community build organized by Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles. Actors, reality television stars, celebrity chefs and high-profile guests came together to support families affected by the January 2025 fires in Pacific Palisades and Malibu.
Among those taking part were actress Bellamy Young, actor Joshua Jackson, television host Melissa Rivers, actress Betzaida Landin and legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard.
Working alongside hundreds of volunteers, the stars helped wildfire survivors whose homes were lost in the destructive blaze.
Executives and representatives from major entertainment companies, including Paramount, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Discovery, also participated in the project.
Images from the build captured the celebrities smiling and pitching in as crews installed framing walls for two new homes.
“This multi-day effort brings together community members, builders, and corporate partners to begin framing new homes, complete the final touches on another, provide critical repairs to smoke-damaged homes and revitalize impacted community spaces,” a press release about the event said.
More than 500 people—including wildfire survivors, local residents, corporate and civic partners, entertainment and media organizations, construction professionals, skilled tradespeople and community groups from throughout Los Angeles—joined the effort, the release said. Their work is helping affected families move closer to returning home.
The 2025 wildfires destroyed nearly 7,000 structures and displaced thousands of Los Angeles-area households. Officials said the Community Build is designed to assist victims who face a financial shortfall in rebuilding their homes.
Nearly 1,000 homes are now under construction following fires that scorched more than 23,000 acres.
According to the announcement, Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles has supported the rebuilding of disaster-damaged homes since the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
“Habitat LA is here to help restore stability and hope for those impacted by disasters, prioritizing support for low-income households that are uninsured, underinsured—those that are the most vulnerable.”
The organization has approved assistance for 160 households, while nearly 170 additional applicants who meet its eligibility requirements remain in the pipeline.
Samsung will also completely furnish one of the rebuilt homes with appliances and consumer electronics. The company is partnering with Habitat LA to distribute $1 million worth of appliances to wildfire survivors, according to the release.
