Eddie Murphy was spotted at an exclusive brunch this week, mingling with a host of other renowned comedians.

The gathering took place as part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival and was hosted at a private Los Angeles residence on Thursday.

This festival, a collaboration between Netflix and Live Nation, is a grand week-long celebration of comedy.

The brunch was a star-studded affair, with some of the biggest names in comedy coming together to swap jokes and discuss the shifting landscape of the entertainment industry.

One photograph captured a remarkable lineup of Hollywood veterans who have left a significant mark on the industry over the years.

Eddie Murphy was seen attending a VIP brunch with several famous comedians this week. Can you name all the heavy hitters in the image? 

In addition to Murphy, there was Alex Edelman, Robbie Praw, Jeff Ross, Donnell Rawlings, Earthquake and David Letterman.

There was also Dave Chappelle, Nicole Avant, Ted Sarandos, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Jeff Garlin.

ALEX EDELMAN, 37

Alex Edelman is a stand-up comedian who is known for talking about growing up in a modern Orthodox Jewish household.

He was named the Best Newcomer at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe for his show Millennial.

The comedian has toured three shows since 2014: Millennial (2014–2015), Everything Handed to You (2015–2016) and Just for Us (2018–2020 as well as 2023–2024).

Just for Us opened Off-Broadway in 2022 before premiering on Broadway in 2023 at The Hudson Theatre; it earned him a 2024 special Tony Award and an Emmy Award.

 

ROBBIE PRAW, 44

JEFF ROSS, 60

He is nicknamed the Roastmaster General for his insult comedy, his multiple appearances at celebrity roasts held by the New York Friars Club, the Comedy Central Roast television series, and the Netflix historical comedy series Historical Roasts.

In 2009 the Chicago Tribune called Ross ‘the new millennium Don Rickles.’

His directorial debut, the 2006 documentary Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie, won the prize for Best Film at the Comedian film festival held at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.

 

DONNELL RAWLINGS, 57

Donnell Rawlings is a comedian and radio host who was a cast member on Chappelle’s Show and The Wire.

The star, who grew up in Virginia, has often appeared in sketches on Chappelle’s Show and hosting the third season along with Charlie Murphy.

His catchphrase on the show was ‘I’m rich, biaaaaatch!’

Rawlings reprised his role as the hater Beautiful, who resembled Little, on Chappelle’s episode of Saturday Night Live.

Rawlings starred in a series of sketch comedy clips portraying his character Ashy Larry, from Chappelle’s Show, called From Ashy to Classy.

Earthquake performed a half-hour HBO special as part of the series One Night Stand, which first aired in 2005.

His film credits include a small role in Kevin Smith’s film Clerks II (2006), and a supporting role in the film The Longshots (2008). His television appearances include a recurring role on CBS sitcom The Neighborhood (2018-2021) starring Cedric the Entertainer, cameos on South Side (2019), In the Cut (2017), and more.

Before his movie career he worked as a stand-up comedian in the 1970s then was on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984.

Murphy is now working on Shrek 5 with Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers.

The star has also worked as a singer. He has three studio albums: How Could It Be (1985), So Happy (1989), and Love’s Alright (1993).

She grew up in Los Angeles with fame all around her as her father was chairman of Motown Records and friends with Jimmy Carter, Tom Bradley, Gray Davis and Jerry Brown.

She started her career working for the promotion division of A&M Records in Los Angeles then was named vice president of Interior Music Publishing, her father’s music company, in 1988.

 

TED SARANDOS, 61

Ted Sarandos has been the co-chief executive officer of Netflix since 2020.

The executive grew up in Arizona and got his start at West Coast Video before joining Netflix in 2000.

He spearheaded the company’s shift into original programming, overseeing the development of hits such as House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black and Stranger Things.

Sarandos was also behind the global hit Squid Game.

He is wed to Nicole Avant.

In 1996 he won kudos for Bring the Pain then popped up in Bigger & Blacker (1999), Never Scared (2004), Kill the Messenger (2008), Tamborine (2018), and Selective Outrage (2023).

He developed, wrote, produced and narrated the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris which was on the air from 2005 to 2009.

From 1997 to 2000 he was on The Chris Rock Show.

Rock was cast in starring film roles in Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), Dogma (1999), The Longest Yard (2005), the Madagascar franchise (2005–2012), I Think I Love My Wife (2007), Grown Ups (2010), Death at a Funeral (2010), Top Five (2014), The Week Of (2018), Spiral (2021), Amsterdam (2022), and Rustin (2023).

When hosting the 2022 Oscars he was slapped by Will Smith.

 

JON STEWART, 63

Stewart started as a stand-up comedian but then moved to TV when he hosted of Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central.

He went on to host You Wrote It, You Watch It (1992–1993) and then The Jon Stewart Show (1993–1995).

He has also appeared in several films, including Big Daddy (1999) and Death to Smoochy (2002).

Stewart hosted the 78th and 80th Academy Awards.

 

JEFF GARLIN, 63

Jeff Garlin was on Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Goldbergs

Jeff Garlin got his start with comedy troupe The Second City before becoming a comedy writer on The Tonight Show. Next he worked with Denis Leary, Jon Stewart and Larry David.

He is best known for playing Jeff Greene on the HBO sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Murray Goldberg, patriarch of the eponymous family in the sitcom The Goldbergs.

Garlin also played Marvin on Mad About You and Mort Meyers on Arrested Development.

The Illinois native voiced Buttercup in Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4 and Toy Story 5.

Other cameo appearances include Run Ronnie Run!, After the Sunset, Fat Albert, and Sleepover. Garlin appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s Full Frontal (2002) and in Daddy Day Care (2003). In 2005, he had a small role in Fun with Dick and Jane.

She has been in several films such as 1993’s So I Married an Axe Murderer, 2008’s The Hustle, 2014’s Think Like a Man Too, 2019’s Funny Women of a Certain Age and 2021’s Coming 2 America.

On TV, she last appeared on John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA.
