Father Severely Beaten by MMA-Trained Student After Mistaken Bullying Confrontation

A confrontation at an Australian high school reportedly spiraled into violence after an angry father allegedly threatened the wrong student over claims his daughter was being bullied — only to be beaten by another student with mixed martial arts training.

The incident happened Monday outside Wollert Secondary College in suburban Melbourne, when the parent arrived after classes to collect his daughter and confronted a group of Year 7 boys, according to the Herald Sun.

Reports said the father singled out one student near the school, apparently believing the boy had been involved in bullying his daughter. But the student was not connected to the alleged bullying, and the situation escalated when the dad allegedly threatened to “slash the throat” of the innocent boy.

As the confrontation intensified, an older student who trains in MMA stepped in and attacked the father, reportedly striking him in front of shocked witnesses — including the man’s own daughter.

The extent of the father’s injuries was not immediately known, and authorities had not yet received a formal police report, the outlet reported.

The clash has renewed concern among Wollert Secondary College parents about student safety. Earlier this year, the school also drew attention after a student was arrested for allegedly swinging a chain on campus.

“The parent should have asked which child was bullying his kid instead of assuming,” one Wollert Secondary College parent told the Herald Sun.

The parent added that the situation should have been handled through the school, saying the father should have gone to the office to make a complaint, or the student should have reported what happened so teachers could respond appropriately.
