The FBI is providing a $50,000 reward for anyone who can assist in locating a man accused of aiming and allegedly shooting a firearm at federal agents during an immigration operation in Southern California.

Protestors were violently clashing with ICE agents during the Thursday raid of a cannabis farm in Camarillo, a city in Ventura County.

One man at the showdown was caught on camera by a KABC news helicopter pulling out a handgun twice as he ran away from the chaos.

Bill Essayli, the US Attorney for the Central District of California, said the alleged shooting happened at around 2:30pm on Laguna Road.

Through a social media post, it was announced that the FBI is offering this $50,000 reward for any information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of an unidentified individual suspected of discharging a weapon at Federal Law Enforcement Officers near Camarillo.

Essayli released a more detailed image of the suspect, alongside footage from KABC. The individual shown was dressed in a black T-shirt and had a white medical mask covering their face.

Customs and Border Protection also released a statement on the alleged shooting, vowing the suspect would face accountability.

‘Make no mistake: anyone who targets our agents will face the full force of federal prosecution,’ CBP said in a statement.

The raid itself was on Glass House Farms, which employs hundreds of people and bills itself as the largest cannabis operation in the world, KABC reported.

CBP said it served a warrant on the farm, accusing it of employing illegal migrant workers. ICE and the National Guard reportedly executed that warrant on Thursday.

Protestors showed up to impede federal agents, some of whom threw smoke canisters and flash bangs to control the growing crowd.

Once the smoke and tear gas was deployed, most of the protestors ran in the opposite direction, though some were seen throwing rocks at the agents.

The demonstration lasted past 11pm on Thursday, with federal agents remaining on the scene as well.

‘We were speaking our mind like we can as US citizens. We got tear-gassed… I got hit with a paintball. This is not OK,’ one protestor told KABC. ‘This is what we need to be doing as people — coming together against them, the tyranny. They are evil.’

The Ventura County Fire Department was on the scene to provide treatment to people who were affected by tear gas or smoke inhalation.

‘The Ventura County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 12:15 pm on Thursday, July 10th to provide medical aid as a result of federal enforcement activity along Laguna Road in the Oxnard Plains,’ the department said in a statement.

‘VCFD was requested through our county’s 911 system solely to provide medical aid and has no connection with any federal immigration enforcement actions.’

CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott revealed that 10 illegal juveniles were found working at the cannabis farm, which he said is now being investigated for child labor violations.

He then shared a photo of the kids they discovered, who were all sitting in front of five federal agents.

‘These are the juveniles found in the marijuana facility – almost all unaccompanied, one as young as 14,’ Scott said. ‘California are you ready to partner with us to stop child exploitation?’

Governor Gavin Newsom did not address what Scott said, but instead attacked the Trump administration for its mass deportation policy.

‘California prosecutes child exploiters and traffickers. Trump tear-gasses children, rips them from their parents, and deports farmworkers. Priorities,’ Newsom wrote in a post on X.

Earlier, when the raid and subsequent confrontation first went down, Newsom’s reaction was to suggest that kids were running from tear gas ‘because their mother was just taken from the fields.’

Newsom was widely criticized for this, with Vice President JD Vance saying: ‘Democrats are having a fit because we’re enforcing our laws against people working at a weed farm.’

California Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a Democrat, also suggested that the weed farm laborers were actually picking strawberries and that Trump is ‘targeting the immigrant farm workers who feed America.’
