The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced in a news release that 54-year-old Jackie Griffin was apprehended at a home located in the 100 block of Cloyd Road in connection with the alleged incident.
Sheriff Keith Sexton reported that the victim informed deputies that Griffin had not only pointed a gun at her head but also forcibly put his hand into her mouth, grabbed her jaw, punched her repeatedly, and tackled her as she attempted to flee.
According to the WCSO, the victim eventually escaped and reportedly drove herself to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The release said Griffin was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond and will appear in court on July 10.
