Scarlett Johansson turned heads in a strapless red gown that revealed her large back tattoos as she attended the premiere of Ray Gunn at the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday.
The 41-year-old actress looked effortlessly elegant at the screening, held at the Royal Festival Hall, where she posed alongside her co-star Sam Rockwell.
Ray Gunn is an upcoming computer-animated science-fiction mystery directed by Brad Bird.
The film follows Raymond ‘Ray’ Gunn, the last human private detective, who becomes embroiled in a dangerous conspiracy involving murder after accepting a case linked to volatile multimedia pop star Venus Nova, voiced by Scarlett Johansson.
Johansson paired the striking red dress with strappy heels, adding height, and kept her accessories understated with a simple gold necklace.
The bold gown also showcased the large flower, vine and lamb tattoos across her back, which she had inked in 2017.

Earlier this summer, Johansson opened up about the health and beauty habits she follows to maintain her radiant complexion and natural appearance.
The actress said she uses biohacking to support her digestion and includes a particular supplement in her daily routine despite her demanding schedule.
She also discussed her evening skincare routine after removing her makeup, as well as the magnesium supplement and vegan collagen she takes before going to bed.
“I take magnesium at night. It helps me sleep. I feel like it’s good for recovery,” she said.
The Oscar-nominated actress, who has previously spoken about feeling “self-conscious” after facing harsh criticism over her appearance early in her career, added: “It’s good for your entire central nervous system.”
Johansson went on to praise the benefits she has experienced, particularly when she has not been getting enough sleep, after taking magnesium.
“I know that everybody is taking magnesium now. It’s so helpful,” she said.
“It really makes a huge difference, especially in my digestion and my recovery. It’s awesome,” added the Black Widow star.
She also revealed that she takes vegan collagen after a close friend recommended it, claiming it could help her hair “grow thicker, faster and shinier,” although her dermatologist disputed the benefits.
“I don’t know. My dermatologist was like, ‘It’s everything you put on your skin, that’s what counts. Anything you’re taking internally, none of that is working.’”

She also opened up about her daily skincare routine in the evening.
She credited ‘clean skin care standards’ and ‘healing, hydrating benefits’ of the beauty products from her skincare brand The Outset, which she founded and launched in 2022.
‘My night routine is pretty simple,’ she said as she revealed she washes her face with the brand’s micellar cleanser.
‘I don’t wear a full face of makeup every day, [just] foundation and concealer, so I don’t have a full face to wash off.’
She said she also uses hydration-boosting products from her brand to complete her face routine, finishing off with a serum, a moisturizer and ‘sometimes I’ll put a couple of drops of boosting oil in there’.
As for her morning routine, she said she uses the same cleanser, serum and moisturizer as she does at night.
She adds an eye cream from her brand before doing light makeup with concealer, mascara, ‘blush and a little eyeshadow, and that’s it’.
‘Then I’ve got to run out the door. I’ve got two kids,’ added Johansson, who shares daughter Rose, 12, with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac as well as son Cosmo, five, with her husband, Colin Jost.
‘They’ve got to go to school,’ she added. ‘I don’t always have time to put makeup on. Sometimes that’s a step later in the day.’
She also opened up about her fitness routine to maintain her toned physique.
