ORLANDO, Fla. – A tragic incident at Universal Studios has claimed the life of a 70-year-old woman, who passed away after losing consciousness while on the Revenge of the Mummy ride. This information comes from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) in its latest quarterly theme park injury report, covering the last three months of 2025.

The unfortunate event took place on November 25. After the incident, the woman was rushed to a hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her condition, as detailed in the state report.

Revenge of the Mummy is known for its thrilling combination of a dark ride and roller-coaster elements. It propels riders at speeds of up to 45 mph, with sudden accelerations that transport them into an adventurous movie-themed Egyptian tomb complete with mummies, fiery effects, and simulated scarab beetles.

The ride’s safety guidelines specifically caution against participation by individuals with certain health issues, including heart conditions, high blood pressure, or back and neck problems.

This incident is the second fatality linked to Universal Orlando rides in recent months. Back in September 2025, a 32-year-old man died after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe. Medical examiners attributed his death to “multiple blunt impact injuries.”

According to Florida’s Tyre Sampson Act, theme parks must report any ride-related injuries that result in hospitalizations lasting 24 hours or more.
