Air Force pilot details F-16 flyover for America 250 celebration in DC
Maj. Taylor Hiester, commander of the F-16 Demonstration Team, previewed a planned flyover for the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., marking America’s 250th birthday. Hiester described the mission as a deeply patriotic moment and said historic acts of courage, including those tied to Flight 93, continue to inspire service members today. He also urged young Americans to follow their ambitions and consider opportunities in the U.S. military.
An American Forces Network employee who died Tuesday after a vehicle crash near a California military base was later found to have suffered a gunshot wound, authorities said.
The employee, whose name has not been released, was on the way to work at March Air Reserve Base, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles, when the incident happened around 8 a.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, NBC LA reported. Both motorists involved in the collision were transported to a hospital.

“It was later determined that the subject had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s department said. “The Moreno Valley Investigation Bureau assumed the investigation. No further details are available as the investigation remains ongoing.”
Deputies were first called to the scene for a reported assault with a deadly weapon, according to the outlet. California Highway Patrol officers later informed deputies that both drivers had been hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities have not said what may have led to the shooting.
