America’s Top Party Schools Ranked: New York Colleges Fall Flat

New York flunks the fun test.

A new ranking of America’s “top party schools” for 2027 suggests the Empire State is hardly a campus rager hotspot, with just two New York colleges making the national cut.

According to education research site Niche.com, the party scene is mostly tapped out across New York — with Syracuse University and SUNY Albany the only schools from the state to appear among the top 50.

Syracuse University, long associated with a lively off-campus house party culture, placed No. 14 in the newly released rankings, while SUNY Albany landed at No. 45.

Florida State University in Tallahassee, widely known for its rowdy Greek life celebrations, claimed the No. 1 spot. It was followed by Tulane University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Dayton in Ohio and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Pennsylvania State University, which recently drew headlines over a cocaine trafficking case tied to two fraternities, ranked sixth on the list.

To come up with the list, niche.com surveyed students, asking them to rate their colleges based on factors such as nightlife, Greek life, and access to bars.

“The 2027 Top Party Schools ranking is based on student reviews and nightlife statistics. Top party colleges have a vibrant and diverse party scene — they offer fun options both on and off campus and students rate their peers as being fun, friendly, and into partying,” niche.com said.

For the ranking, researchers considered more than 1,400 schools nationwide.
