PG7 represents a revolutionary midsole innovation introduced by the internationally recognized sportswear company, ANTA, in 2024. This technology established a new standard for cushioning with a Peak Gravity (PG) metric of 7.8. For those not familiar, Peak Gravity evaluates how effectively a shoe absorbs impact: a lower PG score indicates superior cushioning. At the beginning of the year, ANTA further advanced this technology, achieving a PG score of 7.6. This enhancement redefines impact absorption, resulting in footwear that offers exceptional cushioning, improved comfort, and optimal stability.
âPG7 Cushion Evolutionâ Global Relay Run Hits 12 Global Cities
ANTA unveiled the enhanced Travel Step 2 running shoes, equipped with the PG7 midsole, during their worldwide event, “PG7 CUSHION EVOLUTION.” This initiative introduced their cutting-edge technology to runners in key cities such as Shanghai, Addis Ababa, Hanoi, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.

The event commenced in Shanghai on April 12, showcasing two captivating and insightful live demonstrations to illustrate the PG7’s remarkable impact-absorbing features. In one demonstration, eggs dropped from a height of 3 feet remained unbroken upon landing on the PG7 material, while those dropped on traditional EVA foam shattered. Another demonstration showed a smartphone protected by PG7 material enduring consecutive hits from a 30-pound hammer without damage.
The âPG7 Cushion Evolutionâ relay moved onto Chicago, San Francisco and other iconic running cities throughout April. In Boston, during the prestigious Boston Marathon, ANTA welcomed global runners to experience the PG7 cushioning and ANTA Challenge Series professional racing shoes. The momentum continued in Brooklyn, NY, where ANTA partnered with the Midnight Runners club to host an open community run, bridging cultures through a shared passion for running.
Upgraded PG7 Tech & Travel Step 2: Greater Cushioning, Wider Fit, Better GripÂ
A seemingly small drop from 7.8 to 7.6 results in a significant improvement in cushioning performance. The upgraded PG7 midsole disperses impact more efficiently and delivers even more exceptional energy return. Featuring an enhanced âwide toe boxâ design, the shoes offer a more comfortable fit for a wider range of foot shapes. An improved A-Grip rubber outsole delivers better traction with a wider profile, while the asymmetric 3D-structured heel stabilizer improves landing stability through ergonomic support.

Wherever a runner’s stride can reach, ANTA aspires to go. âOur goal with PG7 is simple: Put the right shoe on every runnerâs feet,â says Samuel Tsui, CEO of ANTA Brand.Â

PG7 connects runners to the ground they traverse. From its inception to its upgrade, PG7 reflects ANTAâs commitment to making high-performance technology accessible to everyday runners and inspiring exploration beyond limits.
