Texas authorities arrested a Dallas-area community college professor last week after he allegedly sent sexually explicit photos and messages online to someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy.
Aaron Wood, 34, taught drama at North Central Texas College (NCTC) for two years. Investigators allege he exchanged the messages on Snapchat with an undercover agent in Florida on May 22.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Wood Friday and charged him with solicitation of a minor via computer, according to county records.
NCTC confirmed the arrest and said Wood was no longer employed by the college as of Monday.

The college said the alleged conduct did not involve any of its students or employees.
“To our knowledge, the alleged offense does not involve NCTC, its students or staff,” the college said. “We can verify that he has had no contact with NCTC students, faculty or staff since his arrest on September 25, 2026.”
According to an arrest affidavit, Wood allegedly communicated on Snapchat with an undercover Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigator posing as a minor in Florida, FOX 4 Dallas reported.
During the exchange, Wood reportedly said he taught students close in age to the person he believed he was communicating with.

When the undercover officer asked about his students, Wood allegedly said he had “been into a few over the years.” He reportedly acknowledged feeling nervous but continued expressing interest in the conversation.
The affidavit states that Wood sent a photograph of male genitals and other sexually explicit messages, then asked the undercover officer to send similar images, FOX 4 reported.
Investigators traced the online activity through its IP address, leading them to an apartment in Denton.

The affidavit said the Orange County Sheriff’s Office had probable cause to charge Wood with transmitting harmful material to minors and unlawfully using a two-way communication device, FOX 4 reported.
Although the allegations reportedly did not involve NCTC students, the college said the safety of its students and staff remained “of the utmost importance and concern.”
