Donald Glover, the acclaimed artist known to fans as Childish Gambino, recently disclosed a serious health issue that led to the cancellation of his tour last year. Initially described as an unspecified “ailment,” Glover revealed during a performance that he had, in fact, suffered a stroke, according to his doctor.
The revelation came during Glover’s appearance at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles. His candid admission quickly gained attention across social media platforms.
Addressing the audience, Glover, 42, explained, “You guys wanted to know where I’ve been. In Louisiana, I experienced severe head pain but continued with the show despite having difficulty seeing. By the time we reached Houston, I visited a hospital where the doctor informed me I had a stroke.”

Glover expressed his disappointment about not being able to perform, mentioning his unfulfilled wish to visit Ireland. He also shared that doctors discovered a hole in his heart, necessitating two surgical procedures.
“They say everyone lives two lives, and the second begins when you realize you only have one,” Glover reflected. “Remember, you have just one life, and I have to say, sharing mine with all of you has been an incredible blessing.”
His representatives did not immediately respond to request for comment.
