A fatal shooting tied to an argument outside a Nashville lounge ended in tragedy inside a nearby Sam’s Club, where a stray bullet pierced the store’s metal wall and killed an innocent Frito-Lay worker stocking the chip aisle, police said.
Authorities identified the victim as Paris Carlock, 55, of Murfreesboro. He was completing an early-morning product inventory near the center of the store shortly after 4 a.m. when the bullet hit him in the head.
Employees at Sam’s Club immediately tried to help Carlock before he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Investigators said the gunfire appears to have stemmed from a confrontation that started inside Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike, located a short distance from the Sam’s Club.
According to police, security escorted the people involved out of the lounge, but the argument continued outside. As several vehicles drove away from the area, gunshots were heard.

Police said one of the rounds traveled through the exterior wall of the Sam’s Club and struck Carlock while he was working inside the store.
The department described Carlock as an “innocent” victim.

Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing leads, but police have not announced any arrests or released descriptions of the people or vehicles involved.
