The midterm elections are approaching quickly, and the country may soon be facing a lame-duck presidential administration.
I know Americans hear that warning every two years, so I recognize the irony in saying it myself. Still, the stakes have never felt higher.
We have witnessed what I view as government overreach under the previous administration, while Democrats currently in office and candidates seeking election continue to promise policies in the same direction. But that is not my greatest concern. Nor is it the “woke” agenda I believe the left has promoted throughout society. We have also seen federal resources used, in my view, against people who opposed the radical left. Even that is not what troubles me most.
I expect those developments—and more—from today’s Democratic Party.
What concerns me most is what I consider the deeply disturbing, almost psychopathic behavior displayed by the average liberal voter.
That behavior was on full display last year, when my friend Charlie Kirk was brutally assassinated in front of thousands of people, with the incident streamed live to millions across the country. In the immediate aftermath, I saw millions of liberals celebrate the killing. TikTok dances, Halloween costumes, graphic memes, songs and even video games were used to mock the death of a man who wanted, above all, to debate ideas peacefully.
In my view, they did so for one reason: he held political opinions different from their own.
This did not appear to be an isolated incident, an outlier or a momentary lapse in judgment. As the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination approached this year, I again saw similar celebratory behavior emerge—and then resurface repeatedly. To me, that pattern suggested something more deliberate than a spontaneous reaction driven by poor judgment.
It reflected, I believe, the deeper character of modern liberalism. The troubling reality, as I see it, is that many liberals have abandoned a basic sense of morality.
If Democrats win the midterm elections—particularly after the major legislative and social victories Republicans have achieved over the past two years—they will interpret the result as confirmation of their worldview. They will feel empowered to intensify their agenda and pursue what they regard as retribution. I fear that the consequences would not be limited to their political opponents; America itself could pay the price.
I sincerely believe that such an outcome could leave the nation unable to recover.
They would, I believe, push the country further into unsustainable debt, weaken the military and undermine the free-enterprise system. More importantly, they would tear apart the social fabric that gives America its identity.
Without traditional American values, I fear the country could become another example of unchecked liberal government—where power rests with the state instead of the people, and citizens are reduced to subjects.
I am doing everything I can to resist that direction.
We have visited more than 9 million homes in support of America First candidates nationwide, contributing to 452 critical victories. We have also activated the broader Citizens Alliance network of door knockers to help conservative candidates prepare for the midterm elections.
But I cannot do this alone.
If we want to win the 2026 midterm elections, every patriotic American must do more than cast a ballot. We need to become engaged, visible and outspoken in the months leading up to Election Day.
That means organizing our families, friends and communities while discussing the issues that matter—in person and online. The left is already mobilizing in this way, and we need to match that effort on an even larger scale. We must speak loudly enough to remind people who share our views that they are not alone. Unlike in recent years, we also have an advantage: social media censorship is no longer limiting our ability to communicate in the same way.
And this effort extends beyond control of the House and Senate. Those victories are essential, but they are not enough. If we truly want to prevent the radical left from reversing the progress made over the past two years—and from pursuing an even more aggressive agenda—we must win races at every level, including local contests across the country.
That’s where the left has historically been especially effective. They’ve built a massive grassroots network of elected officials at all levels of government, which has given them exponentially more power as well as a false impression of widespread support.
This election is ours to win or to lose, and the deciding factor is mobilization. It’s time for action.
