Bruce Davis, a former follower of cult leader Charles Manson who was convicted for his role in two 1969 murders, has died at age 83, officials said.

A spokeswoman for the Solano County Coroner’s Office confirmed Davis’ death to News Outlet but provided no further information. TMZ reported that Davis was pronounced dead at 11:03 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, California, where he was serving his sentence.
Davis received a life sentence in 1972 for his role in the murders of Donald “Shorty” Shea, a 35-year-old Hollywood stuntman, and Gary Hinman, a 34-year-old musician who was friends with several members of the Manson Family.
Davis was not the person who directly killed either victim. He also was not accused of taking part in the home-invasion murders that killed pregnant actress Sharon Tate and four others.
